Is Blogging for Me?
A few weeks ago I started this blog and wasn't so sure how I felt about it. But now I am, after a few posts I've decided blogging isn't for me. Although at time they're fun to read, I personally do not like posting them. I can admit I did not take the blogging completely serious but only because it wasn't something that interested me very much. However with that being said, I can admit it was useful because I think it helped my writing by not having one specific audience but instead having many different audiences. I wouldn't mind doing another blog again but it definitely isn't at the top of my bucket list.

Together Even Apart
Being in a relationship is always a wonderful thing. You find someone that makes you happy, smile uncontrollably, and most importantly someone who accepts you for everything that you are. Best of all they're your best friend. Of course when you find that person, you want to be with that person everyday. But what happens when you cant be? When that person lives hours or even states away? How do you feel? Many people are skeptical about long distance relationships, just as most people will always say, "it's never going to work." Well for the pas few months, I can honestly say, "it can work." My boyfriend and I have been fighting through the distance and although it's definitely not easy, it's worth it. The key to distance is to communicate. Since we don't get to see each other, except once a month, we make sure that we talk as much as we can. We may not always have important things to talk about but even the random conversations asking how each others day was or sending pictures of something funny we saw, it makes it seem as if we are close to each other even though we can't be. The second key to distance is trust. You have to trust your partner or else it definitely won't work. But truthfully, it's all worth it. Being apart for so long just makes it even better when you do get to see each other again.
Food Inc.
Recently I've been seeing a lot of videos related to how our food is produced and it's really made me think a lot about what we all eat on a daily basis. I watched Food Inc. and it described what we feed our animals and how they're treated. It's quite awful. They treat the animals horribly. It really made me consider eating organically. When you eat organically, the animals are actually treated as animals. The food is also healthier because the animals aren't sick or need antibiotics and other things injected into them. Although living organic can seem difficult, i'm sure we'd all be able to do it,

S is for Support Entry #4
Having people that support you is always something to be happy about. I guess you can say I got lucky with my support system. I have my parents that help me with every chance they get, whether it's with school, work, or anything in between. I know that anytime I feel like giving up they'll be right there to lift me up and point me in the right direction. Without them I'm not sure where I'd be. I also am lucky my boyfriend supports me as well especially with school. Anytime I have homework he's always there to help me with it and he definitely makes sure I stay on task because he knows how distracted I get. With them all as my support system I know that I'll be able to complete school and succeed with everything I do.

Looking to the Future Entry #3
I recently watched a clip from the movie Wall-E and it showed how us as humans would be in the future. It showed us all being completely out of shape, lazy and overall useless. I really hope that isn't what's in store for us. I'm sure the movie is trying to tell us that we are slowly getting lazier by things getting easier and easier for us. For example online shopping, these days you can buy clothes, electronics, furniture, even groceries online. Although it may be easier for us, it also does make us lazier because we aren't willing to go to the store ourselves to get what we need. At time I'm sure it may seem more convenient but it's really us taking the easy way out. I can only imagine how much more things will advance in the future. I do believe that in Wall-E the outlook they show of the future is a real possibility. But clearly it's ultimately up to us on if w will allow it to happen, or if we're going to do something to make sure that doesn't happen.

Distractions Entry #2
As I was sitting here attempting to write this blog I realized just how often I get distracted. It's crazy really. I can know what has to be done one minute and the next my mind is wondering and I'm watching TV or checking my phone. I Literally have been going back and forth between my blog and my phone now for about thirty and minutes and it amazes me because I used to think that I wouldn't get distracted easily. But it's quite the opposite. Truthfully I feel like most people get distracted without even knowing it. It's just like procrastination except you don't notice it. Although I hate getting distracted because I feel it sets me back from completing what I need to, I sometimes feel it's good because I get a break to just relax for a moment. I really think breaks in between your work can be good for you. At least for me , it gives me sometime to think about things and go about them in a different approach.
Glimpses Into Other Blogs Entry#1
Although writing a blog is still very new to me, I have a love/hate with them. I say love because I think finding the right blog can be entertaining to read and I wouldn't mind it at all. But I say hate because for me to personally right one isn't my favorite. I usually have no idea what to right and even if what I'm saying makes sense. Maybe over the next few weeks I'll get better and my blog will be one I'm proud of.
I was given a list of blogs to look at and a couple stuck out to me. The first one I ready was called PostSecret . I actually really liked this one, the concept of many people sending in their postcards with the secrets on them was just really interesting to me. I feel it's a healthy way for them to get their secrets off their chests' without anyone really knowing.
The second one I looked at was called Face Hunter. This blog is a fashion blog. This blog is made up of many pictures. There are very few words and because of that it's not necessarily my favorite. With all the pictures there I would like to see some captions as to what that outfits are, which designers, things that give it more details.

A Little Dose of Erika
Writing a blog is something new to me, in fact I've never done anything like this. Well as for anything new that anyone encounters I should introduce myself. Hi, I'm Erika, I'm 21 and a college student. I attend GCC, where I want to complete my associate's degree so I can continue on to university. In my spare time I love to go out with my friends whether it's to the movies, dinner, bars, etc. However, sometimes it does get difficult to see my friends because I also work. I work at Brushfire as a cashier and spend most of my days there. Between school and work I am definitely always busy with something. But it'll all be worth it when I reach my goals. I intend on one day possibly owning my own business or managing one. Anything where I can work with others will make me happy because I love working with others and being able to help them and also learn things from them. Everything will work out in my favor, I just have to take it one step at a time. Until next time :)
